It Blows My Mind

The Dawn spacecraft launched in 2007. Imagine taking the cell phone you had in 2007 (a flip phone?) and launching that into space (i.e. far away). Now you can’t upgrade it for 8 years! Now, plan to do science with that phone under the increased demands of bit-rate, camera resolution, and the upgrades of earth-bound systems that have far outpaced the technology in your sensor (i.e. the spacecraft’s).

Nice job NASA/JPL!
